Alan Rand (April 28, 1912 – March 7, 2004) was the son of Mina Stinson (Margery) and Earl P. Rand, a small-time grocer.
Mina divorced Rand and married Le Roi G. Crandon, who tried changing Alan’s name to John. Mina indulged Alan in every way possible. To her, the sun and the moon revolved around him. To her, only his love mattered. Alan could manipulate her into believing anything he wanted her to believe. He only earned mediocre grades in school, but he had a talent for learning and casting spells. Though he had a handsome face, it was pitted with acne scars that formed the pattern of a coiled serpent on each cheek.
