About Piper

PiperHeadshotIn his brilliant and comprehensive biography, Houdini!!! The Career of Ehrich Weiss, author Kenneth Silverman writes the following passage about Houdini’s demise (p. 413):

All the major American dailies carried headline accounts of Houdini’s death. Some accounts offered bizarre sidelights: reports of home circles having received the message, “Houdini is doomed, doomed, doomed!”; of Houdini muttering with his last breath the name of the agnostic Robert Ingersoll; of Houdini’s “daughter” hovering at his deathbed.

Who was this mysterious girl? Why was her existence kept hidden from the world? And what part did she play in Houdini’s death? At long last her story can be told.
