Strange but True!
Piper Houdini was originally conceived in the early 2000s as a series for Marvel Comics featuring a male character. Glenn Herdling and John Kissee pitched the series as a whimsical response to the popularity of Harry Potter by giving Doctor Strange* a nephew he never knew he had. Note how closely the scene below parallels the first chapter of Piper Houdini: Apprentice of Coney Island.
